Totem Pole was released in 2009. This was the second album that my good friend Don “Fuzzy” Purcell helped me produce. Fuzzy also contributed some guitar and mandolin tracks. I read somewhere that you should include a cover tune to drum up interest in your project so I covered Surrender by Cheap Trick and also wrote lyrics about the gas prices to Five Bucks High And Risin' by Johnny Cash. I had Donny Wright on bass and along with Clair Bard on backing vocals, My brother-in-law Jim Shaw played drums, Skip Jones was on organ and Chris Hubbard on piano, Orvil Ivie and Garry Meziere did guitarwork, Smily Mike Renwick was on percussion, Mike Danner on Accordion and Bryan Daste on pedal steel guitar.
